Acupuncture

Body Collective offers Acupuncture with highly trained and experienced Acupuncturists.

What is Acupuncture?

By definition, acupuncture is a family of procedures involving the stimulation of anatomical locations on or in the skin. There are many different approaches to diagnosis and treatment in American acupuncture that incorporate medical traditions from China, Japan, Korea, and other countries. The most thoroughly studied mechanism of stimulation of acupuncture points employs penetration of the skin by thin, solid, metallic needles, which are manipulated manually or by electrical stimulation.

In practice, acupuncture is a holistic healthcare practice, the intent of which is primarily to promote health and alleviate pain and suffering, and additionally to provide an effective method whereby disease can be prevented. Our experienced, certified acupuncturists bring this powerful holistic healthcare method to our community in an approachable and accessible way.

Balasana is a great pose to have in your toolbox for when you need some additional grounding. In Sanskrit, bala means child and asana refers to a posture. Since Balasana is a resting pose, it can be great for helping relieve fatigue and can promote relaxation. This pose also helps stretch the ankles, hips, and shoulders. If you suffer from lower back pain, it can help relieve pain by lengthening and stretching the spine. ⠀ 12 0
Feeling a little ungrounded lately? Try these three poses to help you feel more stable. When practicing these poses, try to notice the parts of your body that are connected to the earth. ⠀ 13 0
