Massage Therapy

Body Collective offers massage therapy services from highly trained and experience massage therapists, each of whom offers their own toolbox of techniques.

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage therapy provides relaxation and pain relief. It also has documented clinical benefits. For example, massage can reduce anxiety, improve pulmonary function in young asthma patients, reduce psychoemotional distress in persons suffering from chronic inflammatory bowel disease, increase weight and improve motor development in premature infants, and may enhance immune system functioning.

Some medical conditions that massage therapy can help are: allergies, anxiety and stress, arthritis, asthma and bronchitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive motion injuries, chronic and temporary pain, circulatory problems, depression, digestive disorders, tension headache, insomnia, myofascial pain, sports injuries, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

Balasana is a great pose to have in your toolbox for when you need some additional grounding. In Sanskrit, bala means child and asana refers to a posture. Since Balasana is a resting pose, it can be great for helping relieve fatigue and can promote relaxation. This pose also helps stretch the ankles, hips, and shoulders. If you suffer from lower back pain, it can help relieve pain by lengthening and stretching the spine. ⠀ 12 0
Feeling a little ungrounded lately? Try these three poses to help you feel more stable. When practicing these poses, try to notice the parts of your body that are connected to the earth. ⠀ 13 0
