What’s one funny or random fact you’d like to share with the Body Collective Community about yourself?
I’ve read the entire Wheel of Time series more times than I’m quite sure of.
What was your path before joining Body Collective?
While attending UT Austin getting an BA in Linguistics, I first began to see a chiropractor for chronic pain and scoliosis. After my first appointment, I was out of pain for the first time in years. Within a couple of years, I was working at that chiropractic office, running the front desk, and learning a ton about the benefits of not only chiropractic, but other forms of holistic healthcare. That experience embedded in me a deep desire to share these incredible modalities and the difference they made in my life with my community.
Next on my career path was an adventure into project management where I learned the basics of web development, marketing processes, digital education development, and herding cats. A few years later, I ventured out on my own and began my consulting career. I’ve spent the last 10 years or so helping small businesses and internet marketers put together and manage their websites, digital marketing back ends, and the 10,000 or so other things that come along with that. I think of myself, in my consulting business, as a CTO for businesses who don’t have the budget or the need for an in-house CTO.
In 2016 I decided to take my yoga practice to the next level and began my Yoga Teacher Training with Emily Liles at Yoga Yoga. This experience was exactly what I needed, and expanded and deepened my own practice and love of yoga.
A couple years ago, I had one of those terrible heartbreaks, and found healing by falling in love with the power of partner dance. Jean, Body Collective Co-Founder, dragged me way out of my comfort zone and to a Kizomba class. Once I stopped shaking out of sheer panic (because everyone was SO kind to me), I began to feel the beautiful connection that this dance offered. As I kept taking classes and learning the basics of the dance, I fell completely in love with the dance and the safe, platonic, meditative connection it offered.
In the past 2 years, I’ve joined with two dear friends to start two separate brand new businesses: AutoCFO and Body Collective. Both of these businesses align beautifully with what I feel to be my higher purpose: To connect people with transformational tools that bring them into better alignment with their own higher purpose.
AutoCFO does this by providing revolutionary financial tools for small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, CFOs, accountants, and bookkeepers. Body Collective does this by bringing transformational opportunities to everyone who seeks them, at whatever point on their path they are.
What brings you joy when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I love to travel, wander, eat good food, make pottery, and read nerdy books.
