About Barb
Having discovered my practice of yoga nearly twenty years ago, I immersed myself more deeply in 2010. Wanting to learn not only the postures, but the true lineage, philosophy, traditions, and ancient teachings, the desire for information grew.
Knowing the gifts of deeper concentration and awareness, increased flexibility and strength, and most of all, a richer connection to Self, that a consistent yoga practice has given me, I want to share this with others.
Every time that I step on my mat, anywhere in the world, I know I have arrived home.
Yoga is for every single person of every background, gender, size, and age. It doesn’t matter when you start your practice, it only matters that you start. Join me, as your guide, to find your practice.
Barb’s Offerings
I offer Hatha, Gentle, and Restorative yoga. I am also a recent Sound Therapist, having just completed my certification series. I can perform Sound Therapy at the studio, or in my own home studio. I use a series of bowls, chimes, tuning forks, and gongs, along with corresponding crystals and stones.
What to expect from a class with Barb
My goal is to help each student enrich their own personal practice through breath, alignment, mindfulness, and most of all… safety. My classes may include a little history, a bit of Sanskrit, perhaps a poem, a bit of breathwork (pranayama), and gentle asana postures to help you develop your own practice. Body awareness and exploration are encouraged and broadened with body and spirit. After centering and asana, your savasana will involve a deep relaxation with a guided meditation, that includes Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, and soft gong.
Fun fact about Barb
I’m originally from Chicago and moved to Austin to escape the snow….who knew?
I’m also currently completing my additional 300 HR YTT.
